Vik Mehrotra is the founder and CEO of Venus Capital. Vik has been in the investment arena, managing money and actively investing in India and Asia since 1985.
Vik founded Venus Capital in 1994 as a wealth management firm and gradually transitioned its focus to Asia with emphasis on providing the best risk adjusted returns.
Vik has an MBA in Finance from Rochester Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree from University of Delhi, in accounting and econmics.
Vik currently manages the award winning Venus Arbitrage Fund and the Venus Special Situations Fund. Venus Arbitrage Fund has won the 2007 HFMWeek Award for "Best Relative Value Fund" and the 2005 and 2004 Asia Hedge Award for "Best Market Neutral Fund".
Venus Arbitrage fund was a nominee for 2007 HFMWeek Award for "Niche Fund", 2007 EurekaHedge - Asian Masters of Hedge Award for "Best Relative Value Fund", 2006 MarHedge Award for "Best Relative Value/Arbitrage Fund" and the 2005 MarHedge Award for "Best Emerging Market Fund".
Along with Vik's successful public market investing, he has made several successful private equity investments in India including in Osians, India's largest art auction house.
