Venus Capital Management, formed in Boston in 1994, claims to be the firm to have formed the first India hedge fund in the US. Venus is an investment advisor to several family offices, high net worth individuals, institutions, funds of funds, pension funds and endowment funds, investing in a variety of asset classes in the emerging markets. The firm currently manages one India-focused fund – the Venus India Opportunities Fund. IndiaFM spoke to the firm’s founder and CEO Vik Mehrotra, who revealed why investment in India’s energy and agriculture sectors may unlock big returns.
